Hi,
I was searching for information on porcelin and came across your website. I found it very enjoyable. I had never heard of Lustron prefab homes. I was born in 1958.I am in the commercial construction business, involved in the sale of metal wall and roof systems. Mr. Strandlund was way ahead of his time. First to use the method of modular construction, second to use steel framing and third porcelin coated steel claddings. Amazing! The unfortunate thing is most homes build in the USA today are not as inovative as the Lustron. How far have we come in sixty years? Not far enough in my opinion. Thanks for sharing this great piece of Americana.
