The Lustron System

The Lustron is a complex system of parts.
The Lustron is a complex system of parts.
This section will help you understand the “Lustron System” and its component parts.

Traditional houses are built. Lustrons were assembled-from a kit of over 30,000 parts produced at the Ohio factory and shipped to the site by truck. The “Lustron System” is our way of describing all the various parts and how they are interrelated–think of a complex, three dimensional jigsaw puzzle.

If you are embarking on repairs of your Lustron or trying to diagnose a problem, consider spending some time getting to know the Lustron System. Spending sometime with this section will help you understand how your Lustron “works” so that when you need to get it fixed, you will be more prepared to make informed decisions. Comprehension of the Lustron System is the first step in understanding how to repair your Lustron.

I would like to resurrect the Lustron Home concept to help provide low maintenance and low cost homes for widows and poor families. If anyone has information and advice on the enamel or porcelain process, (materials, details of processing, etc.) I would be interested in hearing from you. Thank you very much.
