Although there were erection manuals for each model, all are similar to the one for the Westchester 02 Model, which is available on this website and the manual we use for illustrations. The erection manual can be very helpful in understanding your Lustron, particularly when you are repairing your Lustron. If you need to remove panels or other components the manual can help you figure out the best way to do it. Understanding how the house was assembled is essential if you’re taking it apart - and want to put it back together again. The Lustron Corporation also issued a set of Master Specifications, which were modified repeatedly.
The specifications set design standards for items not provided by Lustron, such as the appropriate excavation for the foundation slab and the proper finish and curing time for the concrete. In addition, the specifications contained quality standards for specific components supplied by Lustron, like the roof panels, door frames, and bathroom fixtures.
