Repair and maintenance of Lustrons poses a unique set of challenges. This section was created to help you address those challenges. If you have not yet spent some time getting to know your Lustron, we suggest first visiting Meet the Lustrons to gain a better understanding of the Lustron System and its various components. The section on the Lustron System will give you the background information you need to understand the information contained in this section.

Before you embark on any repairs, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with the Secretary of the Interiors Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties and the Lustron Guidelines. Reviewing these sections will give you a good idea of how best to approach repairs.

Once you have done that, take a quick gander at the Do’s and Don’ts. Make sure that the work that you are planning on doing is on the Do list rather than the Don’t list.

Have you read up and now you are ready to begin some repairs? Head on over to Repair and Maintenance in Action.

Enjoy!
