Similar to automobiles, Lustron homes were distributed by dealers. A 1950 fact sheet distributed by the Lustron Corporation noted that “builder dealers are franchised to erect houses within a given geoghraphical area. Prerequisite to recieving a franchise is experience in the construction and sales field, a good credit record, sufficient working capital and willingness to work with AFL union labor. At the end of 1949, Lustron has 234 dealers located in 35 states, and one in Venezuela. The dealer organization is growing rapidly.”
